About this role

Do you want to tackle the biggest questions in finance with near infinite compute power at your fingertips?

G-Research is a leading quantitative research and technology firm, with offices in London and Dallas. We are proud to employ some of the best people in their field and to nurture their talent in a dynamic, flexible and highly stimulating culture where world-beating ideas are cultivated and rewarded.

This is a hybrid role based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.

The role

This position is based within the Data Analytics team, part of the wider Insights and Delivery function, which is collectively responsible for providing timely insights on business health and for the development and delivery of G-Research's strategy.

Data is at the heart of our business and we see the ability to embed data-driven insight into the fabric of daily management as a core driver of competitive advantage for the firm.

As an Insight Analyst , you will be at the forefront of facilitating data-driven decision making across the business, working closely with senior leadership to structure, analyse and drive outcomes for complex and strategic problems.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading and delivering projects to improve business performance and decision making, using a variety of analytical and modelling techniques
  • Supporting the smooth running and augmentation of business operations through the provision of insight on metrics that matter
  • Working with senior leadership to identify key hypotheses and assumptions, quantifying and challenging throughout
  • Visualising and communicating insights in a way which resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Providing technical oversight and advice on modelling and simulation projects, mentoring other members of the team

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Practical experience in a business analytics setting, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrable experience of owning and delivering end-to-end analytics projects; experience of modelling and simulation, such as discrete events, systems dynamics and optimisation, is highly preferential
  • Strong academic credentials, including a minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage C-Suite stakeholders
  • Ability to dissect ambiguous problems, identifying key drivers and determining the appropriate analytical techniques to apply
  • High proficiency at creating end-to-end reporting solutions, including data extraction, cleaning, analysis and report building
  • A good understanding of statistics and the ability to apply statistical methods to their modelling and analysis
  • A willingness to evangelise best practice and mentor colleagues
  • An innovative mind-set with a desire to continuously improve every aspect of how we work
  • Experience with SQL, Python, Tableau or similar is highly beneficial.

Why should you apply?

  • Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus
  • Lunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar
  • 30 days’ annual leave
  • 9% company pension contributions
  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance
  • Comprehensive healthcare and life assurance
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Monthly company events

G-Research is committed to cultivating and preserving an inclusive work environment. We are an ideas-driven business and we place great value on diversity of experience and opinions.

We want to ensure that applicants receive a recruitment experience that enables them to perform at their best. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation please let us know in the relevant section
