Insurance Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Lawyer to join our legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer with strong insurance-sector experience to step into a broad in-house role, providing practical legal support across a diverse range of corporate, commercial and insurance-related matters. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating independently, exercising sound commercial judgment and getting up to speed quickly in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

The role will provide broad corporate and commercial legal support, including:

• Providing day-to-day legal advice across insurance and related business lines.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.
• Reviewing marketing materials, advertising content and customer communications from a legal and regulatory perspective.
• Supporting broader corporate and commercial legal matters as they arise.
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the broader legal team to identify practical, commercially appropriate solutions.
• Managing matters independently while escalating more complex or higher-risk issues appropriately.

 

Requirements:

• Approximately 8+ years’ post-qualification experience with relevant insurance-sector experience.
• Prior in-house legal experience, ideally within a commercial or regulated environment.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• The ability to work autonomously and make an immediate contribution with minimal ramp-up time.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
