About this role
Role Overview
We are looking for an Interior Design Lead who can take ownership of the design function while leading and managing a team of interior designers. The role will be responsible for setting design direction, managing the team's workload and deliverables, and ensuring projects are delivered within timelines, budgets and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and mentor the interior design team, allocating projects and monitoring individual deliverables.
- Own the end-to-end design process for new stores, renovations and expansion projects.
- Set design direction and ensure consistency with the brand's look, feel and customer experience.
- Review and approve layouts, design concepts, working drawings, BOQs and material specifications.
- Manage design timelines and ensure the team meets project milestones.
- Coordinate with Projects, Operations, Procurement, Real Estate, consultants and vendors.
- Conduct site visits and ensure design intent is maintained during execution.
- Drive cost optimisation and value engineering while maintaining design quality.
- Build and maintain design standards, processes and guidelines for the organisation.
- Identify and develop team capabilities through regular feedback, mentoring and performance management.
- Manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
What We’re Looking For
- 8–12+ years of experience in interior design, preferably QSR, café, retail or hospitality.
- Proven experience managing and leading a team of designers.
- Strong understanding of commercial interiors, space planning, materials and project execution.
- Strong design judgement with the ability to balance creative, operational and commercial requirements.
- Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and relevant design software.
- Strong ownership, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
