What you'll do

  • Support the preparation of financial statements for IMCO Pool funds and IMCO Corporate, as well as IMCO's Annual Report.
  • Assist with the annual external audit process, including coordinating and responding to audit requests.
  • Liaise with custodians and Investment Operations teams to obtain supporting information required for the financial reporting of investment vehicles.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements for IMCO subsidiaries and other legal entities.
  • Support the preparation of financial information for regulatory and compliance reporting.
  • Partner with the Tax team to provide information required for annual tax filings.
  • Liaise with Legal and legal entity management teams to maintain corporate records and entity documentation.
  • Participate in the month-end financial close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses related to cash, accruals, capital assets, and prepaid expenses.
  • Support accounts payable activities, including expense report reviews and other accounts payable processes.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

This internship runs from January - April 2027 (4 Months)

We are looking for a highly motivated student to join our Financial Reporting team. The successful candidate will support IMCO's corporate accounting and financial reporting functions and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic asset management environment. In this role, you will contribute to the preparation of financial statements for IMCO Pool funds and IMCO Corporate, support the production of IMCO's Annual Report, assist with the year-end external audit, and participate in the month-end financial close process. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining efficient, effective, and scalable financial reporting processes and controls. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to IMCO's commitment to best-in-class financial reporting through the delivery of high-quality, transparent, and reliable financial information to management, the Board of Directors, clients, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities Include:

The base salary range for this position is CAD $45,000 to $65,000. The placement within the range is determined by the role and assessment of the candidate’s year of study and relevant work experience.
