Role Purpose

The Quality Assurance Coach will play a key role in driving quality improvement across Hays Travel Apprenticeships. The postholder will support Teaching, Learning and Assessment (TLA), quality assurance, compliance, internal verification, and continuous improvement activities to ensure apprentices receive an outstanding learning experience and achieve successful outcomes.

Working closely with Learning and Development Coaches, Team Leaders, Quality Leads and senior managers, the Quality Assurance Coach will monitor the quality of apprenticeship delivery, support the achievement of high standards across programmes, and contribute to organisational readiness for external inspections, audits and awarding organisation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Improvement

  • Support the implementation of the Apprenticeship Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement activities across all apprenticeship programmes.
  • Monitor, review and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning and assessment practices.
  • Provide quality assurance oversight of Travel Consultant and Customer Service apprenticeship programmes.
  • Identify trends, strengths and areas for development through quality sampling, data analysis and performance reviews.
  • Produce reports and recommend actions that support informed decision-making and improved learner outcomes.
  •  Add in Creation and implementation of new resources to support quality
  • Complete mock assessments to prepare apprentices for End point assesemnt

Teaching, Learning and Assessment

  • Conduct quality reviews of learner progress, engagement, attendance, evidence and achievement.
  • Support Learning and Development Coaches to improve the quality of delivery, assessment practice and learner experience.
  • Complete progress review observations and classroom observations, producing detailed feedback and recommendations.
  • Support the development of engaging learning resources and materials that meet varied learner needs.
  • Ensure delivery effectively embeds safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, wellbeing, literacy and numeracy.

Internal Quality Assurance (IQA)

  • Complete regular Internal Quality Assurance activities across the UK.
  • Produce and maintain risk-based sampling plans in accordance with company procedures and awarding organisation requirements.
  • Sample assessor activity, learner portfolios and assessment decisions to ensure consistency and standardisation.
  • Monitor the quality of evidence within learner e-portfolios and ensure timely completion of sampling activities.
  • Support standardisation activities and support consistency across the delivery team.

Apprenticeship Compliance and Achievement

  • Support EPA Gateway reviews, ensuring learners are prepared to achieve the highest possible outcomes.
  • Monitor learner progress, achievement and completion rates.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of apprenticeship standards.
     

Performance and Team Support

  • Support Learning and Development Coaches with performance improvement and compliance matters.
  • Coach and mentor delivery staff to improve performance and learner outcomes.
  • Contribute to monthly quality meetings by presenting findings, recommendations and improvement actions.
  • Support Team Leaders and managers with quality-related investigations, audits and improvement initiatives.

External Quality Assurance and Inspection Readiness

  • Support preparation for Ofsted inspections, awarding organisation visits and external audits.
  • Participate in and support External Quality Assurance (EQA) visits, ensuring actions are completed within agreed timescales.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Recognised Assessor qualification (A1, D32/D33, TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
  • Recognised teaching qualification at Level 4 or above (Cert Ed, CTLLS, DTLLS, Level 4 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Significant experience working within apprenticeships, work-based learning or further education.
  • Strong knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards, assessment plans and End Point Assessment requirements.

  • Experience of supporting teaching, learning and assessment to improve learner achievement.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) requirements.
  • Experience of analysing performance data and producing quality reports.
  • Experience of preparing for external inspections, audits or awarding organisation reviews.
