We have an exciting opportunity and are on the lookout for an International Freight Manager to lead and inspire a team, based at our Ringwood manufacturing site – home to Cadbury.

Reporting to the Integrated Supply Lead ANZ, this role will see you plan and manage international logistics requirements for exported and imported products, while managing the execution of commercial agreements with international freight vendors. This critical role also provides a key link between the business and government bodies to ensure compliance with export and import regulations.

How you will contribute

You will: 

• Lead and develop a team of four International Freight Administrators working on all operational aspects of import/export activities

• Plan and execute all import and export shipments from suppliers around the world, including regulatory and legal aspects

• Manage budgets across Australia and New Zealand operations

• Manage the import and export plans with the ANZ warehousing network

• Drive productivity initiatives to achieve cost reduction and/or service improvements

• Deliver on the International Freight strategy to support tender processes and provide input on service specifications

• Manage relationships with vendors, Australian Customs, Quarantine, Australian Maritime Safety Authority and other regulatory authorities in Australia and overseas, ensuring legislative compliance at all times

• Provide recommendations on import operations and regulations

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career and the following experience and knowledge:

• Deep expertise in Ocean Freight Operations

• Solid understanding of customs clearance processes, Incoterms, and government agencies

• Familiarity with international shipping lanes, preferably within a perishable environment

• Proven experience in leading an operational team

• Knowledge of 3PL contract management

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and SAP system experience

• Experience working within an FMCG and/or 3PL environment

• Project management experience is highly advantageous
