What You Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Transaction Execution Support: assist in the structuring and execution of syndicated financing transactions across various sectors and markets
• Term Sheet Preparation: support the drafting and preparation of financing term sheets, deal summaries, and transaction materials
• Syndication Activities: assist in coordinating syndication launches, lender roadshows, investor communications, and information package distribution
• Credit & Financial Analysis: analyse financial statements, key credit metrics, and business performance to support underwriting and transaction evaluation
• Financial Modelling: assist in building and reviewing financial models used in transaction analysis and credit assessments
• Pitchbook Preparation: support the preparation of client presentations, underwriting proposals, and marketing materials for financing opportunities
• Documentation Review: assist in reviewing legal and transaction documentation to ensure alignment with agreed financing terms and transaction requirements
• Ad-hoc Projects: provide support on strategic initiatives, market updates, and other assignments as required

Who You Work With

Global Investment Banking partners corporates, financial sponsors, and institutional clients by providing financing and advisory solutions to support their strategic objectives. Within the Loan Capital Markets team, you'll work alongside professionals who structure, arrange, underwrite, and syndicate loan transactions across a broad range of industries and markets. You'll gain valuable exposure to transaction execution, credit analysis, capital raising, and the collaborative nature of investment banking.

Who You Are

• Good understanding of financial statements and credit analysis principles
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with financial modelling would be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
• Independent, self-motivated, and able to take initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Meticulous, organised, and able to perform under pressure in a dynamic environment
• Prior internship experience within banking or financial services would be advantageous
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree

Learning Objectives

This internship will provide you with:

• A foundational understanding of syndicated loan structures, transaction processes, and key market participants
• Exposure to the roles of arranger, agent, and participant banks within syndicated financing transactions
• Hands-on experience analysing financial statements, credit profiles, and key borrower metrics
• Exposure to the full lifecycle of a financing transaction, from origination and pitching to syndication and successful closing
• Opportunities to develop financial modelling, credit analysis, and transaction execution capabilities
• Experience preparing pitchbooks, underwriting proposals, transaction materials, and client communications
• Insights into the legal, commercial, and operational considerations involved in loan capital markets transactions
• Exposure to collaboration across investment banking, risk management, legal, operations, and product teams to deliver successful financing solutions
