As a Product Control Intern, you'll work alongside experienced finance professionals to ensure the integrity of financial information, strengthen controls, and support critical business decisions. How You Succeed

To excel in this role, you'll need to be detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn. You'll work closely with Finance, Front Office, Risk Management, and Technology teams to analyse trading activities, investigate exceptions, and support financial reporting and control processes. Your ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders will be key to delivering accurate insights and driving continuous improvements.

What You Do

Your responsibilities will include:

• Product Control Support: perform daily profit and loss (P&L) reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information relating to Global Markets activities
• Trade Monitoring: monitor and review daily trading activities to support risk management, control monitoring, and compliance requirements
• Financial Analysis: investigate discrepancies, analyse financial data, and support the resolution of breaks identified during the reconciliation process
• Risk & Control Management: support the maintenance of a robust control environment through ongoing review and validation of trading and financial data
• Process Improvement: assist in identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen reporting accuracy
• Project Testing & Validation: participate in the testing and validation of new systems, controls, and process enhancements to support business transformation initiatives
• Stakeholder Collaboration: work closely with Finance, Front Office, Operations, Risk Management, and Technology teams to support business initiatives and resolve operational issues
• Reporting & Ad-hoc Analysis: assist in preparing reports, analyses, and management information, and provide support on special projects and assignments as required

Who You Work With

Treasury Financial Control & Advisory plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and control of financial reporting across Global Markets activities. Within the Product Control team, you'll work alongside finance professionals who partner traders, risk managers, and business stakeholders to provide independent oversight of trading activities and financial performance. You'll gain valuable exposure to treasury products, financial markets, and the control framework that supports a leading financial institution.

Who You Are

• Curious about financial markets, treasury products, and banking operations
• Basic understanding of treasury products and financial markets
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of VBA, Python, or automation tools would be advantageous
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree
