Inventory Controller

Location: Brisbane, QLD

World Fuel is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to support major project activities through effective warehouse operations, Project inventory management, materials coordination, and procurement support.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on operational environment, takes pride in maintaining accurate project inventory and stores processes, and wants to contribute to high-profile projects in a growing and dynamic industry.

You'll play a critical role ensuring materials, equipment, and resources are available when needed while working closely with project team, procurement staff, suppliers, and operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Warehouse & Stores Operations

  • Receive, inspect, store, and issue materials and equipment.
  • Quality Control Inspections developed from engineering support documentation
  • Safely load and unload trucks and shipping containers from suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels.
  • Conduct stock takes, cycle counts, and inventory management.
  • Ensure warehouse and storage areas remain organised, safe, and compliant.

Materials & Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment requirements.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials between warehouse, project, and operational locations.
  • Maintain material traceability and inventory accuracy.
  • Support material forecasting and stock planning activities.

Procurement & Logistics Support

  • Support procurement activities including expediting and supplier coordination.
  • Assist with domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate incoming deliveries and outbound freight.
  • Support importation and transportation activities for project materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely delivery.

Project Support

  • Provide stores and procurement support to project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve logistics and warehousing efficiency and resilience.
  • Contribute to supplier evaluation activities that support Australian Industry Capability (AIC) objectives.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in stores, warehousing, materials management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience in a project-driven environment such as:

o Defence

o Engineering

o Construction

o Manufacturing

o Oil & Gas

o Heavy Industry

  • Experience loading and unloading trucks and shipping containers.
  • Strong inventory control and warehouse management experience.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Driver's License.
  • Current MHE (Material Handling Equipment) License.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Desirable

  • Experience work with the EPR (SAP) software application.
  • Experience work with the IBM Maximo software application.
  • Experience controlling the movements and storage of dangerous goods products.
  • Experience working with international suppliers.
  • Experience coordinating freight, imports, and export logistics.
  • Experience supporting procurement and supply chain activities in project environments.
