About this role

The Role

We are interested in speaking with high performing Investment Banking Associates based in Sydney or Melbourne who are interested in opportunities within our M&A practice, across a range of industry groups including Natural Resources, Technology Media and Telco, and General Industrials.

As part of our continued investment in our Australian Investment Banking franchise, we are seeking candidates with strong transaction execution experience and a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality client outcomes.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile transactions, partnering closely with senior bankers, corporate clients, financial sponsors and other market participants.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute a broad range of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across Australia and the Asia Pacific region

  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and valuation analyses

  • Prepare client presentations, strategic reviews, pitch materials and transaction documentation

  • Manage day-to-day execution workstreams in collaboration with clients, lawyers, accountants and other advisers

  • Review and oversee the work product of Analysts and provide guidance on modelling and analytical assignments

  • Support senior bankers in business development activities and client relationship management

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality work products within demanding timeframes

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-6 years of relevant investment banking experience, preferably within M&A, Natural Resources or an industry coverage group with substantial transaction exposure

  • Demonstrated experience executing complex M&A, strategic advisory and/or capital markets transactions

  • Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills

  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance and financial statement analysis

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development and client-facing materials
