Overview 

The IT Specialty Analyst - Epic HIM Coding is responsible for the day-to-day support, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic Health Information Management (HIM) Coding applications. This role collaborates closely with HIM Coding, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Revenue Cycle, and operational teams to analyze workflows, identify system improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that support coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert for Epic HIM Coding functionality, participates in system upgrades, testing activities, incident resolution, and change management processes, and provides ongoing support to end users. The position requires strong knowledge of HIM coding workflows, healthcare revenue cycle operations, and Epic application support.
 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (prefrred)

  • 5+ years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree requirements

Certification/Licensure

  • Active Epic HIM Coding Certification (Required)


Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of IT analyst experience supporting Epic applications with direct experience supporting Epic HIM Coding workflows.

  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Epic HIM Coding application functionality, including coding work queues, coding workflows, and revenue cycle integration.

  • Experience conducting workflow analysis, gathering business requirements, and translating operational needs into system solutions.

  • Experience supporting system upgrades, testing, validation, incident management, change management, and production support activities.

  • Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding processes, healthcare reimbursement methodologies, regulatory requirements, and HIM operational workflows.

  • Experience collaborating with HIM Coding, CDI, Revenue Cycle, clinical, and technical teams to implement and support system enhancements.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.


We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $89,294.40 - $131,851.20 annually.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
