What you'll do
- Taking ownership of key compliance topics, with a particular focus on GDPR and privacy matters: maintaining and updating the Register of Processing Activities, reviewing Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), advising the business on privacy-by-design principles, conducting privacy assessments (LIAs and DPIAs), handling data subject requests, and supporting Third Party Risk assessments.

- Acting as a generalist legal counsel in support of the Dutch and wider European team: reviewing, drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, services agreements, procurement agreements, and general terms and conditions.
- Driving the optimisation and standardisation of legal processes, including the development of templates and playbooks, contract management, and DocuSign workflows.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and providing timely input into relevant internal processes.

The role
As Junior Legal Counsel for Fastned in the Netherlands, you will support the legal team in managing Fastned's compliance and corporate affairs. This is a broad, generalist function with a particular focus on compliance topics, most notably GDPR/privacy and our general internal policies, combined with day-to-day corporate housekeeping tasks. Over time, the role offers the opportunity to grow into a wide range of legal areas, from contract review to consumer law, regulatory matters and more corporate-related topics.

You will be part of a growing European legal team with colleagues based in Amsterdam, Paris, Cologne, Ghent and London. As Junior Legal Counsel you will be based in our Amsterdam HQ and report to the Lead Legal NL, working productively and collaboratively with all your colleagues within Fastned.

To make this happen, we are looking for the following:
