Junior Litigation & Prosecutions Lawyer

Service Care Legal are currently recruiting for a Locum Lawyer to join a South East London Council’s Legal Services team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior Lawyer with experience in local government, litigation or prosecutions to join a supportive team and take on a varied caseload.   ROLE:                   Locum Lawyer – Litigation & Prosecutions LOCATION:         South East London RATE:                   £40ph umbrella / £35.72ph PAYE inc. holiday pay / £31.88ph PAYE exc. holiday pay CONTRACT:         6 months, 36 hours per week   Please note that this role would be 2 days working from home per week.   The Role   Handle a varied caseload of straightforward legal matters, providing advice, drafting, negotiation and advocacy. Manage litigation and prosecution work, including Education Prosecution cases. Conduct court advocacy and prepare legal documentation for proceedings.   About You   Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current Practising Certificate. Litigation practice rights and relevant experience in litigation/prosecutions. Knowledge of local government, administrative law and court procedure. Able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
