What you'll do

  • Partner with the Development and Engineering (D&E) business to identify, prioritize, and address learning and knowledge management needs within the organization, including critical skill gaps and knowledge management practices.
  • Co-develop training within the role’s area of expertise and realize and implement them within the defined scope of the discipline and department, in line with corporate guidelines, laws and regulations, best practices, and standards.
  • Support the R&D Academy in translating business needs into appropriate L&KM solutions, act as an expert liaison between business and development needs, optimize efficient business processes, and contribute to the realization of business objectives.
  • Strategy implementation: Manage and monitor business in implementing L&KM strategies that enable business success based on deep understanding of the business, its key strategies, and the drivers for success.
  • Learning Need Analysis: Conduct annual and ongoing LNA to identify learning needs for the responsible business area.
  • Advice: Act as an operational advisor to the business and Competences by identifying business needs critical to long-term strategy and translating them into L&KM solutions.
  • Effectiveness: Ensure business needs are embedded into relevant and impactful learning experiences.
  • Learning & Knowledge Management: Integrate knowledge management with the creation of learning solutions and support best practices for knowledge capture, availability, sharing, governance, standards, and metrics.
  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain a stakeholder network, update and consult it regularly, manage expectations, promote the learning vision and academies, and collaborate across academies to deliver solutions to business needs.

Knowledge management requirements are either in place for the target group/topics or are straightforward in nature.

Role and responsibilities

The L&KM Business Partner reports to the foundation organization and is directly connected to the R&D Academy leadership in the Netherlands. Aligns with tactical stakeholders with a limited and homogeneous target audience. This audience is typically localized in 1 location/site. The lead time for the expected impact in the business is typically within a year. The scope falls within the TAP period. The identified business needs are straightforward and can be addressed with mainly existing L&KM solutions. Focus on implementing programs in the functional area. Emphasis is on immediate solutions, with focus on procedural improvement, policy development and advice to management. Aligns with clearly defined stakeholder group and business interfaces. Knowledge management requirements are either in place for the target group/topics or are straightforward in nature.

Support the College Lead in translating L&KM strategies to the L&KM portfolio and learner groups for a limited, homogeneous target audience at one site.

  • Learning Need Analysis: Conduct annual and ongoing LNA to identify learning needs for the responsible business area. Together with the business, prioritize development plans for the current and new learning portfolio and L&KM solutions aligned with identified needs. Provide input to Academies and identify barriers and enablers of learning application in the workplace.

  • Advice: Act as an operational advisor to the business and Competences by identifying business needs critical to long-term strategy and translating them into L&KM solutions. Advise on off-cycle learning requests, workforce segments, Learner Personas, learning context, broader design requirements, and serve as liaison between business and Academies.

  • Effectiveness: Ensure business needs are embedded into relevant and impactful learning experiences. Foster stakeholder partnerships, align L&KM curriculums and portfolios with broader talent management practices, define key performance indicators, monitor evaluation outcomes, and collaborate with external partners.

  • Learning & Knowledge Management: Integrate knowledge management with the creation of learning solutions and support best practices for knowledge capture, availability, sharing, governance, standards, and metrics.

  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain a stakeholder network, update and consult it regularly, manage expectations, promote the learning vision and academies, and collaborate across academies to deliver solutions to business needs.

Education and experience

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$110,400-151,800

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
