Job Description:
The Laboratory Technician supports quality control and laboratory activities at Penn Color. The role is responsible for performing laboratory testing, maintaining accurate records, supporting batch release activities, and helping ensure products meet established quality standards.
Working closely with laboratory, production, and technical colleagues, the Laboratory Technician contributes to the reliable evaluation of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products while supporting the continuous improvement of laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control Activities
- Perform laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
- Evaluate raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support batch release activities and product quality verification.
- Investigate and communicate atypical or out-of-specification results.
Laboratory Operations
- Operate, maintain, and verify laboratory equipment.
- Prepare samples, test panels, and laboratory materials.
- Maintain laboratory organization and housekeeping standards.
- Support calibration, maintenance, and inventory activities.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow company procedures, safety requirements, and quality systems.
- Ensure data is recorded and stored appropriately.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
Technical Support Activities
- Assist with product evaluations and technical investigations.
- Support raw material assessments and qualification activities.
- Participate in improvement projects as required.
- Provide laboratory support to development and customer-related activities when appropriate.
