What you'll do
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., pipefitters, electricians, carpenters) with their tasks, including carrying materials, preparing work areas, and cleaning up debris.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and perform other earthmoving tasks using shovels, picks, and other equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including disposing of waste and debris appropriately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and other temporary structures as directed.
- Perform site preparation and restoration duties, such as clearing vegetation, spreading gravel, and landscaping.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and foremen regarding daily tasks and project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work progress and potential issues.
