About this role

Lead Mechanical Engineer – Industrial

What you’ll do

As a Lead Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial Systems team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind.  

  • Partner with clients to deliver innovative and practical engineering solutions across complex projects.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical problems and deliver integrated project outcomes.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, guiding technical discussions and aligning design solutions with project goals, operational needs and commercial drivers.

  • Guide and review the work of engineers and designers, ensuring high-quality mechanical design, procurement documentation, 3D models and construction deliverables.

  • Support and develop emerging engineers through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

  • Contribute to winning work through the preparation of proposals, engineering estimates and capital cost assessments.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications and RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Strong mechanical engineering experience delivering industrial projects across mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, energy or related sectors.

  • The ability to think strategically, evaluate options and develop practical solutions that deliver value for clients and communities.

  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams across various phases of the project lifecycle, from concept development through to detailed design and construction support.

  • An understanding of industry standards, regulations and engineering practices relevant to industrial facilities.

  • Proven experience applying project delivery methodologies to achieve successful project outcomes.

  • A track record of delivering high-quality engineering solutions in technically complex environments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts and influence key stakeholders.

  • A collaborative approach to leadership, fostering strong relationships across project teams and client organisations.
