What you'll do

  • Own the daily production, validation, and analysis of trading P&L.
  • Provide independent review and challenge of P&L attribution and key valuation drivers.
  • Investigate and reduce unexplained P&L through robust analysis and control monitoring.
  • Partner with Front Office teams to understand trading strategies, positions, and market exposures.
  • Validate exposure reporting and ensure trading activity is accurately reflected in risk and financial reporting.
  • Identify, investigate, and escalate control exceptions, valuation issues, and exposure breaches.
  • Lead daily pricing and forward curve validation across physical and financial commodity markets.
  • Manage curve construction, validation, and maintenance across relevant products and benchmarks.
  • Ensure pricing inputs are derived from approved and independently verifiable market sources.
  • Investigate pricing anomalies, stale market data, curve movements, and valuation impacts.
  • Support risk, valuation, and reporting processes through robust market data governance.
  • Partner with Enverus and internal technology teams on enhancements and issue resolution.

Lead, Product Risk & Control

Location: London, UK

At World Fuel, we're seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Lead, Product Risk & Control to join our Supply & Trading organization.

This role sits at the intersection of Trading, Risk, Finance, and Operations and is responsible for strengthening and overseeing the control framework supporting our physical and financial energy trading activities.

The successful candidate will lead daily P&L validation, exposure reporting, pricing and curve governance, valuation controls, and risk oversight while partnering closely with Trading, Market Risk, Finance, Operations, Credit, Legal, and Technology teams.

This is a highly visible role offering direct exposure to senior leadership, commercial decision-making, commodity markets, and the end-to-end trading lifecycle.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Daily P&L, Valuation & Exposure Oversight

  • Own the daily production, validation, and analysis of trading P&L.
  • Provide independent review and challenge of P&L attribution and key valuation drivers.
  • Investigate and reduce unexplained P&L through robust analysis and control monitoring.
  • Partner with Front Office teams to understand trading strategies, positions, and market exposures.

Pricing & Curve Governance

  • Lead daily pricing and forward curve validation across physical and financial commodity markets.

  • Investigate pricing anomalies, stale market data, curve movements, and valuation impacts.
  • Support risk, valuation, and reporting processes through robust market data governance.
  • Partner with Enverus and internal technology teams on enhancements and issue resolution.

Risk Control & Governance

  • Maintain ownership of key controls across valuation, market data, positions, exposures, and P&L.
  • Develop meaningful exception reporting and management dashboards.
  • Identify control weaknesses and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Ensure control evidence and documentation meet internal, external audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong risk and control culture across the organization.

Month-End & Audit Support

  • Support month-end valuation and commercial-to-accounting reconciliations.
  • Partner with Accounting to investigate and resolve reporting breaks.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, control testing, and process reviews.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and enhanced controls.
  • Reduce manual processes and increase transparency across reporting and valuation workflows.
  • Support ETRM enhancements, testing, implementation, and system upgrades.
  • Participate in strategic projects, new product onboarding, and business expansion initiatives.

What We're Looking For
