Learning Programme Officer

About The Role

The Teaching Remembrance Learning Programme is looking for someone who can bring education, content and project delivery together. As Learning Programme Officer, you’ll be involved in developing the resources that teachers, schools and youth groups use to explore Remembrance, from lessons and assemblies to digital resources, films and live learning activities. You’ll work with the Learning Programme Manager to shape new ideas, research what audiences need, commission content where appropriate and take projects through from initial brief to finished product. It’s a role where you’ll be expected to contribute ideas, spot opportunities and take ownership of your own areas of work as you develop in the role.

A big part of the job is making sure the programme’s content has a strong digital presence. . You’ll manage and develop the Teaching Remembrance digital resource library, work with colleagues in Digital and Brand, produce newsletters and promotional content, and look at how existing resources are performing and where there are gaps. You’ll also be involved in delivering learning events, presentations and activities, including working with the Armed Forces communiity and external partners to develop video and other content. Alongside the creative side of the role, you’ll manage budgets, monitor expenditure, keep projects moving and make sure the programme delivers what it has set out to achieve.

You’ll bring a solid understanding of the UK education system and what schools and young people need from educational content, together with the organisation and project management skills to turn good ideas into something that works in practice. You’ll be comfortable working with teachers, young people, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations, and confident enough to build relationships and represent the programme externally. We’re looking for someone who writes well, communicates clearly, works independently and can move between creative thinking and the practical detail needed to deliver a busy programme. Experience across education, learning, youth engagement, educational content or a similar environment would all be relevant.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.
