Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal/Legal Secretary with 3-5 years of experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Florida court systems and adept at managing case files and attorney calendars while providing support to 3-4 attorneys. This role requires proficiency in filing legal documents, contacting judge assistance, and general court system knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the legal secretary for assigned attorneys.
  • Format, finalize, type, and file legal documents.
  • Prepare letters and legal documents from drafts.
  • File pleadings and motions with appropriate tribunals.
  • Serve or arrange service of legal documents and maintain attorney case files.
  • Prepare subpoenas and discovery requests, schedule hearings, trials, depositions, and arrange facilities as directed.
  • Retain and schedule court reporters and obtain transcripts.
  • Perform general secretarial duties such as handling phone calls and making travel arrangements.
  • Close case files and support office management as needed.

Required Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Paralegal/Legal Secretary.
  • Familiarity with the Florida court systems.
  • Experience working with 3-4 attorneys.
  • Proficiency in filing documents with the court and managing attorney case files and calendars.
  • Knowledge of general court systems and procedures.
  • Experience in word processing, using templates to draft correspondence, and creating legal documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
