  • Work with our business development, trading, treasury, risk and clearing teams to assess the needs of the firm, advise internal constituents, and take the lead on negotiations with derivatives and financing counterparties in all asset classes, as well as work on other trading-related agreements.
  • Counsel business units on contract strategy, including explaining contractual risks and obligations while suggesting strategies and alternatives, and negotiating contracts.
  • Identify potential regulatory issues relating to derivatives trading, and work with compliance, other internal stakeholders, and outside counsel to mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with global legal team members and support business initiatives across time zones.
  • Assist on internal legal department projects and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned or needed.

  • Working knowledge of regulations related to derivatives and trading.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new subjects and business areas quickly.

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel specializing in derivatives and trading agreements to join our global legal team to collaborate with the firm to negotiate and provide legal advice with respect to derivatives transactions and other trading-related matters. You will work on a variety of transactions and agreements, including derivatives agreements, prime brokerage agreements, and other broker relationship contracts. In addition, you will work on a range of other agreements needed to meet the ongoing needs of our diversified trading firm. Areas of responsibility will include reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, regulatory advice for new business initiatives, and other corporate legal matters. 

This role will be based in our Hong Kong Office with the expectation of being onsite.
