What you'll do

  • As the lead in-house development and real estate attorney, provide and otherwise oversee all strategic development and real estate issues for project finance and M&A transactions, including conducting and responding to due diligence inquiries and drafting, reviewing and managing development and real estate closing deliverables
  • Oversee the real estate team’s review of title commitments, title proformas, title policies and surveys, and provide analyses, support and supervision for title curative work in connection with project finance, construction and/or operation
  • Manage and oversee all legal development issues requested by the development team for all aspects of project development, including project design, site control, permitting, regulatory, real estate and interconnection
  • Oversee, draft, maintain and administer the general processes and policies regarding site access to the company’s projects
  • Interface with Google energy and real estate attorneys on development and real estate issues
  • Engage with internal executives, internal risk committee, and external third parties and stakeholders, in support of approving and executing development transactions and key contracts
  • Manage and develop in-house development and real estate legal teams
  • Manage outside development and real estate legal counsel, to support development and real estate transactions and contract negotiations
  • Have an entrepreneurial attitude towards development, problem solving and related project support functions
  • Participate in other legal tasks of the broader legal team as requested

About This Role

We are looking for Legal Counsel, Head of Development & Real Estate Legal to join our dynamic, friendly and innovative Legal team. This position will report directly to the General Counsel and will engage, interact and communicate with all functional teams across the organization, including all of the Legal Team.

 

Responsibilities & Duties
