We are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join a busy and professional legal organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, proactive and detail focused individual who enjoys providing high quality administrative and secretarial support within a busy legal environment.

As a Legal Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting solicitors and the wider legal team with the day to day management of client matters. You will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, assist with document preparation, manage correspondence and appointments, maintain accurate records and ensure the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and the wider legal team
  • Prepare, format and proofread legal documents, correspondence, reports and other documentation
  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and post
  • Open, maintain and close client files in accordance with internal procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic and paper filing systems
  • Assist with the preparation of legal documents, bundles and case papers
  • Manage diaries, appointments, meetings and conference calls
  • Arrange meetings, appointments and travel requirements as required
  • Liaise professionally with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts and other external parties

About You

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and detail focused, with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the importance of accuracy and confidentiality within a legal environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary, legal administrator, secretary or in a similar role
  • Previous experience working within a legal or professional services environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
