- Enforcing pool rules/regulations and protecting lives.
- Patrolling and observing the pool area and rescuing swimmers in distress.
- Administering First Aid and/or CPR as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of pool, pool deck, pool equipment, locker rooms, showers, and common areas at all times.
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility.
- Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- All other duties as assigned and appropriate.

Lifeguards are responsible for the constant safety and well-being of all patrons at all times. This position is responsible for the supervision of swimmers and spectators, enforcement of safety protocols, and providing a fun and enjoyable environment for all. Must be able to identify life-threatening situations and act in a level-headed and appropriate manner during all emergencies.
ESSENTIAL EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
The following illustrates examples of some of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Part Time Lifeguard. There may be other essential functions, not listed below, in order to accomplish the tasks as presented by the Supervisor. • Enforcing pool rules/regulations and protecting lives.
