The role:
Step into a busy hospital ultrasound service over the Christmas and New Year period. You’ll manage a varied acute caseload across Emergency, inpatient and antenatal services, with the support of an established sonography team.

Hourly pay rate: DOE | Public holiday and on-call opportunities | Accom + travel support

Date and Duration: 21 December 2026 – 3 January 2027, with the possibility of a further one-week extension
Hours: Rostered 8:00am–4:00pm or 10:00am–6:00pm, with potential public holiday and on-call work
Distinctive Aspects of This Role:
- Scan a broad acute caseload including abdominal pain, renal, gallbladder, liver, female pelvis, ectopic pregnancy and torsion presentations.
- Support inpatients, Emergency, antenatal clinic and potentially fracture clinic patients.
- Access a dedicated room for acute patients who need to remain in bed.
- Occasional portable scanning may be required for ICU patients.
- Work with three Philips EPIQ ultrasound systems.
- Join a team of six sonographers making up approximately four full-time equivalent positions.

The Essentials for This Role:
- Current ASAR registration
- Strong general ultrasound experience
- Confidence managing acute ED presentations
- Ability to work independently in a hospital setting
- Availability for the full Christmas–New Year placement | Comfortable with being on call if required
