What you'll do
- oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy machining department within a precision environment.
- work closely with Production, Planning and Purchasing teams, to ensure production targets are achieved
- run department competently in the managers absence.
- create and optimise CNC programs for DMG Mori machines using offline programming tools.
- set up and operate CNC machines (lathes, mills, drills) according to job requirements.
- load raw materials and verify tooling setup.
- interpret technical drawings and ensure dimensional accuracy.
- perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- monitor machine performance and report issues promptly.
- work closely with programmers and machining production manager to meet production schedules.
