Our hotel

The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline, and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your key responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels is a collection of iconic hotels that respects the individuality of location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.

As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

  • Be responsible for preventive maintenance work, regular safety and maintenance inspections across the hotel  

  • Work with our Chief Engineer to ensure the highest standards of maintenance are achieved

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and hotel standards

  • Take pride in delivering exceptional maintenance services

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure safe and smooth hotel operations 

  • Possess the necessary skills to complete some general maintenance tasks

  • Work independently and as part of a team

  • Have a well-rounded maintenance knowledge

The expected salary package of a Shift Engineer is £36,222.52 gross per annum (salary plus discretionary service charge)
