The Opportunity

Abbott Point of Care (APOC), a division of Abbott, empowers healthcare professionals with rapid, lab-quality diagnostic results at the point of care. By delivering accurate test results in minutes, APOC solutions help clinicians make timely triage, diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring decisions, ultimately improving patient care and operational efficiency.

Today, hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations in more than 100 countries rely on the i-STAT System to support patient care across emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, and other high-acuity settings. As part of Abbott, APOC remains committed to advancing innovative diagnostic technologies that help people live healthier lives.

The Manager, Commercial Execution Design supports the APOC Global Commercial Excellence team by designing, enabling, and scaling end-to-end commercial solutions that reliably convert clinical science into revenue. This role is responsible for translating strategy, clinical evidence, analytics, and tools into standardized processes, embedded workflows, and visual management systems that drive adoption and measurable business impact across APOC regions.

Operating upstream of reporting, this position leads the transition from reactive, retrospective performance management to proactive business and opportunity management by leveraging leading indicators, sales funnel health, and execution insights. The Manager, Commercial Execution Design partners cross-functionally to create solutions that influence field behaviors, improve execution consistency, and advance APOC's evolution toward outcome-based operating pods.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect end‑to‑end commercial solutions that integrate clinical evidence, analytics, tools, and field workflows into scalable execution models
  • Translate global commercial strategy into repeatable regional execution models that drive consistency and impact
  • Design and embed workflows that operationalize insight into day‑to‑day commercial execution
  • Lead the shift from retrospective reporting to forward‑looking business and opportunity management using leading indicators, sales funnel health, and execution signals

    • Bowler formats
    • Visual management tools
    • Clear performance cadences and escalation paths
  • Translate analytical insights into clear actions, targets, and choices for global commercial teams, not standalone reports
  • Own adoption strategy, usage metrics, and continuous improvement feedback loops to ensure sustained impact
  • Drive continuous improvement through disciplined problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis, and learning loops
  • Partner cross‑functionally across Global Commercial Excellence, Medical/Scientific Affairs, Global Strategic Marketing, IT, and regional teams
  • Ensure solutions are embedded within existing systems, governance models, and real‑world customer workflows
  • Ensure compliance with Abbott Quality System, EHS, and data governance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in solution design, implementation, or operational enablement within healthcare, medtech, or complex commercial organizations
  • Formal Lean training and certification (e.g., Lean Practitioner, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher) with demonstrated real‑world application and impact
  • Proven experience applying Lean and continuous improvement methodologies to:
    • Improve functional execution
    • Enable customer‑facing commercial outcomes

  • Hands‑on experience developing, deploying, and sustaining standard work, including bowler formats and visual management tools
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives from solution design through sustained adoption
  • Proven ability to translate strategy, insight, and data into executable workflows and ways of working
  • Strong executive‑level communication, influence, and change leadership capabilities
  • Proven ability to drive adoption, behavior change, and sustained performance across diverse stakeholder groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical, healthcare operations, or commercial execution background
  • Advanced Lean or Six Sigma certification (e.g., Black Belt)
  • Experience partnering with IT, digital, and analytics teams to operationalize solutions
  • Background in enablement, capability building, or performance management systems
  • Experience operating in global, matrixed, and regulated environments
