About this role

Position Title: Manager, HR Services, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands    

Grade: MRC 8    

Reports to: Director, HR Services, APEC excluding South Asia    

Location: Sydney, Australia 

 

Job Summary

Lead HR operations for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific above property associates while providing consistent HR generalist support across the ANZP market. The role works closely with ANZP based associates, APEC HR Services, Compensation and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Finance and regional stakeholders to coordinate effective associate-lifecycle delivery, accurate and timely payroll-related administration, associate relations and engagement support, HR processes and documentation, market requirements, and regional HR projects and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Coordinate day-to-day HR operations across onboarding, associate changes, transfers and exits.
  • Serve as a primary contact for associates and managers on HR policies, processes and employment matters.
  • Ensure associate records, documentation and HR-system data are accurate, complete and audit-ready.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners to ensure timely associate transactions.
  • Support associate relations matters, escalating sensitive or complex cases appropriately.
  • Assist with performance, compensation, engagement and other recurring HR programs.
  • Support associate relations initiatives, engagement activities, recognition programs and market events that contribute to a positive associate experience.
  • Coordinate associate relations events and activities, including planning logistics, communications, vendor coordination, participation tracking and post-event follow-up where required.
  • Support compliance with company policies and applicable Australia, New Zealand and Pacific employment requirements, escalating matters as appropriate.
  • Provide project-based and operational HR support for ANZP market priorities, in partnership with managers and regional HR stakeholders.
  • Assist with market requirements during organizational changes, vacancies or periods of increased workload.
  • Contribute to regional implementations, process improvements and standardization initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, workforce information and HR insights to support key stakeholder discussions.
  • Identify operational risks and escalate or follow up on issues with appropriate documentation.

Recruitment, payroll and benefits support

  • Support recruitment for ANZP above property roles in partnership with hiring managers.
  • Coordinate job requirements, candidate coordination, approvals, offer processes and onboarding activities.
  • Support payroll administration, statutory submissions, benefits enrolment, renewals and associate communications, ensuring payroll inputs are accurate, complete and submitted in line with required timelines.
  • Coordinate payroll-related associate lifecycle transactions, including new hires, terminations, transfers, contract changes, compensation changes, allowances, deductions and other recurring or ad hoc payroll updates.
  • Partner with internal teams and external payroll vendors to resolve payroll queries, validate payroll reports, follow up on discrepancies and support timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain payroll-related records and support documentation in accordance with company requirements, audit standards and applicable market obligations.
  • Monitor recruitment, payroll and benefits-related progress, maintain accurate documentation and coordinate with external service providers where applicable.

Office Administration, Records and Process Improvement

  • Maintain structured HR documentation and filing systems, including SharePoint.
  • Ensure appropriate document retention, access controls and confidentiality.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, templates and associate communications.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual work and improve the associate experience, sharing recommendations with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support office administration, including vendor coordination, purchase requests, invoice follow-up, office supplies, visitor arrangements, facilities requests, associate activities and market-specific projects as required.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned or instructed by the business as needed.

Candidate Profile / Experience Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Demonstrated HR generalist experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, payroll and benefits processes, HR systems, and associate relations practices.
  • Excellent time management, communication, problem-solving, and organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple locations.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools, with experience in data analysis, dashboard creation, tracking and preparing management presentation decks and information.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to Business Partners and other key stakeholders
