What you'll do

  • Provide advice, interpretation, coaching, and guidance to managers and employees on employee and labour relations matters, workplace policies and procedures, performance management, complaints, investigations, conflict resolution, absenteeism, progressive discipline, and terminations.
  • Support the interpretation and application of collective agreements, including grievances and other labour relations matters, and assist with effective dispute resolution strategies.
  • Assist with monitoring the frequency and duration of steps within the grievance procedure and provide guidance to leaders throughout the process.
  • Support WSIB claims, return-to-work planning, Attendance Management Programs, and Early and Safe Return to Work Programs.
  • Respond to employee and workplace incidents at residences in a timely manner and provide appropriate HR support and guidance to site leadership.
  • Coach and support leaders in addressing workplace challenges, strengthening employee engagement, and fostering positive workplace cultures.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues and senior leaders on HR programs, initiatives, policy implementation, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality when managing sensitive employee and workplace matters.
  • Utilize HRIS and other systems, including Workday and UKG, to support accurate employee information, reporting, and HR processes.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly between sites.
  • Must be able to provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, completed within the past six months, or be willing to obtain one.

Nice to have

  • CHRP certification is an asset.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-union environment is preferred.
  • Experience in Long Term Care or Assisted Living is preferred.

This is a hybrid role based out of the Mississauga office, with required travel to Ontario sites.

The Opportunity

AgeCare is seeking an experienced Manager, Human Resources, Operations (Ontario) to provide strategic and operational HR support across our Ontario communities. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role partners with site leadership to provide expert guidance on employee and labour relations, workplace practices, performance management, and the application of HR policies and collective agreements.

Working in a complex, multi-site and multi-union environment, the Manager, Human Resources provides trusted advice, coaching, and support to leaders and employees while helping ensure consistent, fair, and effective HR practices across the organization.

This is an opportunity for an experienced HR professional to build strong partnerships with leaders, navigate complex workplace matters, and contribute to a positive and engaged workplace culture that supports AgeCare employees and the residents we serve.

What You Will Do
