Manufacturing Engineer II

• Estimated annual base pay: $77,000.00(minimum) - $100,000.00(midpoint) - $123,000.00(maximum)

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Is part of a cross-functional team of technicians, quality engineers, coaches, and supply chain members to support the design and industrialization, helping the team achieve operational objectives and drive to high-performance standards.
• Operational Planning:  As in integrated team member, lead through operational challenges, to empower and develop the teams in the design and adoption of automation (robotics, automated machining centers, autonomous mobile robots, and mechatronics) .
• Technical Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves technical and operational issues, considering their broader impact on the department and implementing effective solutions.
• Cross Department Collaboration: Partners with other departments to integrate engineering initiatives with overall business objectives, ensuring seamless operational synergy.
• Manufacturing Process Ownership: Develop and maintain manufacturing processes for assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and consistency in workflows.

Key Skills:

• Leadership: Demonstrates the ability to lead and inspire teams to achieve strategic and operational goals.  Partner with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to deliver production readiness and operational performance.
• Technical Expertise: Provides technical guidance and support to team members in the design and adoption of automation.
• Define process flows, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, inspection methods, controls plans, and standard work
• Problem Solving: Capable of identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex technical and operational issues effectively.  Work with the equipment maintenance team to troubleshoot manufacturing and automation equipment using structured problem-solving methods.
• Data Analysis: Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks using tools like Pareto charts and process control charts.
• Decision Making: Makes informed and policy driven decisions to navigate operational challenges and opportunities.
• Interpersonal Influence: Effectively guides and influences team members and other stakeholders to adopt new perspectives and approaches.
• Design for Manufacturability & Assembly: Apply DFX principles to improve product manufacturability and assembly. Analyze designs for material selection, part count reduction, and ease of assembly, while collaborating with teams to refine designs.
• Equipment: Assists in selecting equipment for specific operations, preparing purchase requests, and evaluating vendor proposals for return on investment and in alignment with capital equipment plans. Troubleshoots moderately complex equipment issues and supports maintenance teams to improve reliability.
• Knowledge of APQP Tools and Systems: Applies APQP tools (PPAP, Risk Assessments, PFMEA, MSA) to improve process stability and reliability. Supports tooling/fixturing refinements and analyzes process capability metrics (e.g., Cpk) to reduce variability and enhance performance.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with aerospace quality, regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.

Successful candidates typically have:

• 4 Year Bachelors BS OR 8+ years equivalent experience
