Job Summary:
Contributes to the planning, design, procurement, and implementation of changes to manufacturing equipment, processes, and systems, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, productivity, and business requirements.
Participates in manufacturing and continuous improvement projects, collaborating with internal and external teams to develop and implement solutions that optimize processes, equipment, and work methods.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
1. Manufacturing and Process Engineering
- Support the planning, design, and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and product requirements.
- Apply manufacturing engineering principles and practices to improve equipment, processes, and work methods.
- Participate in the implementation and improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

3. Quality, Documentation, and Standardization
- Develop and maintain manufacturing process documentation, procedures, and work instructions in the appropriate sequence to ensure process standardization and continuity.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including FMEAs, Control Plans, and process documentation.
- Apply quality tools and Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies to monitor and improve process performance.
- Ensure implemented changes comply with product specifications and applicable manufacturing standards.
- Maintain accurate project and process documentation and share lessons learned and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
4. Equipment, Tooling, and Workstation Design
- Interpret and integrate product design drawings and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the development of optimized processes.
- Participate in the design and selection of fixtures and tooling required to properly secure parts and products during the manufacturing process.
- Apply Cummins ergonomic design guidelines to reduce risks and develop safe and ergonomic workspaces.
- Contribute to the development of efficient processes and workstations that support productivity and operator well-being.
5. Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and equipment through continuous improvement and waste reduction methodologies.
- Solve problems using systematic analysis methodologies and quality tools to identify assignable causes and root causes.
- Implement robust, data-driven solutions to prevent recurrence of issues and protect the customer.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
6. Safety and Collaboration
- Comply with and promote safety procedures and standards during project implementation and daily activities.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, Procurement, suppliers, and other functional teams.
- Communicate technical information and project progress clearly to different levels and audiences.
- Collaborate with global teams and external resources in a multicultural environment.
- Share knowledge and lessons learned that contribute to team development and continuous improvement.
