  • Design SCADA systems, including databases and interfaces, data handling and reporting, scripting (VB, Python, etc.), and general application programming.
  • Implement software control algorithms; develop data file structures; and configure terminal displays and data transmission software, with emphasis on PLC languages, assembly-level languages, Visual C++, and other higher-level languages.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain debugging and support software to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Configure and commission industrial control packages for manufacturing environments, considering technical and operational constraints to create robust development and commissioning plans.
  • Provide technical project execution, including creating deliverables, maintaining schedule and quality, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with clients to define and manage scope on complex projects, applying strong technical knowledge and project leadership skills.
  • Plan project timelines and collaborate with Project Management to ensure effective execution.
  • Provide programming and onsite startup support for integrated packaging line and process systems in the consumer products industry.
  • Lead and coordinate multiple scopes of work in various phases simultaneously, assuming project management and team-building responsibilities.
  • Communicate regularly with client stakeholders to clarify scopes of work, align on deliverables, and build strong, long-term relationships.
  • Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening relationships with our clients and internal team through successful project delivery.
  • Apply standard workflows, documentation practices, and application definition methodologies.

  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, SCADA and/or MES application development.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Computer preferred)
  • A strong working knowledge of Rockwell Factory Talk Optix & View (Ignition, Wonderware/Aveva a plus).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills appliable to design, programming, and troubleshooting of SCADA, MES, Analytics, and mobile, virtualization, and database technologies
  • Familiarity with Rockwell Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500), Siemens PLCs, PanelView HMIs, industrial communication networks and .NET programming (preferred)
  • The ability to simultaneously execute multiple project responsibilities
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to successfully interact with management, clients, and vendors.
  • A willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
  • Experience in the food and beverage or other consumer packaging industries (preferred).

Job Description:

Business Title: Manufacturing Intelligence Engineer - SCADA

Reports To: Senior Director, Global Systems Integration
Location: BW Packaging Facility

Travel: Up to 50% – Domestic and International

Position Summary:

Works individually and in teams within the Perpetua Group to design and implement SCADA and industrial control solutions for customers’ capital projects. This role will help customers make critical changes to improve performance and achieve their most critical goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Applications & Concept Development

  • Design SCADA systems, including databases and interfaces, data handling and reporting, scripting (VB, Python, etc.), and general application programming.

  • Identify and implement improvements to tools, templates, and data quality within Application Engineering.
  • Advance disciplined and scalable front-end execution practices across automation and integration projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in system integration, SCADA and/or MES application development.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Computer preferred)

The approximate pay range for this position is $130,000–$150,000 annually. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
