Mechanical Engineer

Clarke Energy is one of the fastest growing power generation companies in the South Pacific and specialises in gas engine power stations and combined heat and power technology. Clarke Energy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer, this role is a key member of the EPC business, responsible for leading mechanical design activities, supporting project delivery and providing technical expertise across the full project lifecycle from tendering through to commissioning and handover. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex energy infrastructure projects while providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to a team of Mechanical Engineers and Draftspersons.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering and drafting resources across multiple EPC projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Support tender development through design input, estimating and technical evaluation activities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage procurement activities for mechanical equipment and materials.
• Support construction, commissioning and testing activities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and support the professional development of engineering and drafting personnel.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor of Engineering qualification.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering solutions within EPC, industrial or energy infrastructure environments.
• Proven ability to coordinate projects and lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, procurement, construction and commissioning processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational and project management skills.
• CPEng, NER or RPEQ qualifications will be highly regarded.
