Leidos’ Defense Systems Mechanical Design & Analysis Department is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Huntsville Alabama designing the next generation of air defense launchers to protect America and its allies. You will lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) as they develop the All-Up-Round-Magazine (AUR-M) product.

You will direct the technical work of a team of engineers, ensuring their work meets program requirements, schedule milestones, and budget constraints. Technical depth and understanding of execution are essential to coordinate between subsystem leads and ensure alignment across the team.

This is not your average engineering position. You will work on a team of the most talented engineers in the region who push you to be better every day. Primary Responsibilities

Integrated Product Team Leadership:

  • Identify, assess, and manage IPT risks and opportunities. 
  • Develop and implement mitigation plans to address risks and capitalize on opportunities. 

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Provide clear and concise status communication to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Represent the IPT in governance forums and lead design reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance standards.

Execution Excellence: 

  • Drive issue resolution across functional boundaries to ensure program success.
  • Promote a culture focused on outcomes, execution discipline, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • 8+ years of applicable experience or 6+ years with MS degree.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
