This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On
A Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and services manufacturing and facility systems.
- Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing and facility systems such as mechanical and building systems
- Interpret blueprints and schematics
- Implement methods, practices and techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipment or parts
- Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair
- Adhere to current sanitation and GMP requirements
- Maintain current status on all required training
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of previous experience with machine repair in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude
- Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation
- Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease
- Demonstrated seamer proficiency
- Attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Diploma
- Predictive Maintenance experience/training
- Backflow Prevention certified by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction Association
- Seamer certified via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer School

The base pay for this position is
$20.85 – $41.75/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
