What you'll do
- Completes diagnostic x-rays for patients within the scope of practice for Limited Scope X-ray Operator certification.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect patients, self and other staff from radiation hazards.
- Position patients and take X-ray of specific parts of the patients’ body as requested by the physician.
- Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients.
- Accurately and efficiently takes vital signs and basic historical patient data. Identifies abnormal patient findings. Communicates patient concerns or significant changes in patient’s health status to provider or RN.
- Assists provider in setting up for procedures including aseptic and sterile techniques; provides safe administration of medications and immunizations (oral, IM, subcutaneous, and/or intradermal); obtains EKGs, orders appropriate tests as directed by provider; and schedules specialty and follow-up appointments as directed by provider.
- Prepares patients for examinations, assists with examinations, cast or splint applications, minor procedures a variety of other medically related tasks within their scope of knowledge.

Under general supervision performs routine clinical and administrative duties as well as operates specialized X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of specific body parts as directed by providers, focusing on a defined scope of practice.
Essential Functions:

- Knowledge of medical office practice.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments as directed.
- Skill in taking vital signs.
- Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians and the public.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly.
- Bilingual skills preferred
