The MSL will work closely with cardiac surgeons, surgical teams, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, hospital pharmacists, and other specialist healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will act as a trusted scientific partner in the field, supporting clinical education, scientific exchange, launch readiness, and the collection of meaningful medical insights.

Location: Southern Germany

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key external experts, surgical teams, specialist physicians, hospital pharmacists, nurses, and relevant treatment centres across the DACH region.
  • Deliver balanced, evidence-based, non-promotional scientific exchange on the product, the clinical evidence, appropriate use, and its role within the cardiac surgery workflow.
  • Support clinical preparedness at hospital and centre level, including education, readiness discussions, and identification of practical barriers to correct product use.
  • Capture and communicate high-quality field insights, including clinical practice patterns, evidence gaps, pathway barriers, unmet needs, and relevant competitor or scientific intelligence.
  • Support medical education activities, congress engagement, advisory boards, expert meetings, and speaker briefings using approved scientific materials.
  • Respond appropriately to unsolicited scientific questions and route complex or off-label enquiries through the correct medical information process.
  • Ensure all adverse events, special situations, product quality complaints, and safety-relevant observations are reported within required timelines.
  • Work closely with internal medical, market access, commercial, pharmacovigilance, medical information, and clinical operations colleagues while maintaining clear medical and commercial boundaries.

Experience and qualifications

  • Previous industry experience working as an MSL or closely related scientific role is essential
  • Strong background in cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, cardiac surgery, perfusion, anaesthesiology, or a closely related hospital specialty.
  • PharmD, PhD, MD, MSc, or equivalent clinical qualification required.
  • Ability to hold credible scientific discussions with senior clinical stakeholders and specialist healthcare professionals.
  • Experience presenting and discussing clinical data with expert audiences.
  • Strong understanding of non-promotional scientific exchange, medical governance, adverse event reporting, and compliant field medical activity.
  • Comfortable working independently from a field-based role, managing a large territory and travelling regularly.
  • Fluency in German and English is essential, including the ability to discuss complex scientific and medical topics confidently.
  • Based in Southern Germany, with willingness to travel extensively across the DACH region.

Preferred experience

  • Launch experience with a specialist, hospital-based, procedural, or cardiac surgery product.
  • Familiarity with hospital decision-making, surgical workflows, theatre environments, or critical-care settings.
  • Experience supporting medical education, advisory boards, congress activity, registries, or evidence-generation projects.
