What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up evaluations for patients seeking medical weight management.
- Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review laboratory and diagnostic results, and assess obesity-related health risks.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on sustainable weight loss and long-term health improvement.
- Initiate, prescribe, and manage FDA-approved anti-obesity medications within scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
- Monitor treatment response, medication tolerance, and clinical outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as appropriate.
- Provide education and counseling regarding nutrition, physical activity, behavioral modification, and pharmacologic therapies.
- Evaluate and manage common obesity-related comorbidities, including Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, and sleep apnea.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Work closely with physicians, registered dietitians, behavioral health clinicians, exercise physiologists, pharmacists, and nursing staff to support holistic patient care.
- Participate in case reviews and interdisciplinary treatment planning.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record (Epic).
- Adhere to organizational, state, and federal regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Locations: Danvers, Beverly, and Gloucester, MA
Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary Lifestyle Management and Medical Weight Loss Program. This is an exceptional opportunity to provide evidence-based obesity medicine and metabolic health care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment while enjoying a flexible per diem schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment and Management
Conduct comprehensive initial and follow-up evaluations for patients seeking medical weight management.
Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, review laboratory and diagnostic results, and assess obesity-related health risks.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on sustainable weight loss and long-term health improvement.
Medical Weight Loss Treatment
Initiate, prescribe, and manage FDA-approved anti-obesity medications within scope of practice and organizational guidelines.
Monitor treatment response, medication tolerance, and clinical outcomes, adjusting treatment plans as appropriate.
Provide education and counseling regarding nutrition, physical activity, behavioral modification, and pharmacologic therapies.
Management of Obesity-Related Conditions

Qualifications:
Required

Pay Range:
$68,265.60 USD - $92,851.20 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
