We are looking for a proactive and commercially drivenย Merchandiser/Buyer โ Toysย to take ownership of the toys category from sourcing and vendor development to inventory management and replenishment. This role is ideal for someone who understands retail buying, enjoys working directly with suppliers, and can identify products that have strong market potential.
The role involves a combination ofย field buying, supplier negotiation, product selection, inventory coordination, and category performance management. You will regularly visit wholesale markets across Delhi NCR, discover new products and vendors, negotiate competitive commercial terms, and ensure the right assortment is available at the right price and at the right time.
You will also work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure purchased inventory is received accurately, stock levels are maintained, and fast-moving products are replenished on time.

Key Responsibilities
- Visit wholesale toy markets across Delhi NCR to identify new products, trends, and reliable vendors.
- Source toys based on category demand, pricing, quality, customer preferences, and margin expectations.
- Negotiate product pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, and lead times with suppliers.
- Identify and onboard new vendors while maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
- Track emerging toy trends, licensed characters, seasonal products, age-based categories, and gifting opportunities.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for stock inward, quantity verification, quality checks, and accurate GRN processing.
- Monitor sales velocity and inventory levels to identify fast-moving and slow-moving SKUs.
- Plan timely replenishment to minimize stockouts of high-performing products.
- Maintain an effective assortment across different age groups, price points, and product segments.
- Track category performance including sales, margins, sell-through, inventory levels, and stockout rates.
- Identify slow-moving inventory and recommend markdowns, returns, or corrective buying actions.
- Plan inventory and sourcing requirements for peak periods such as Diwali, Christmas, Children's Day, and gifting seasons.
- Maintain accurate buying, vendor, pricing, and inventory records using Excel and other tracking tools.
What's Makes You a Great Fit
- 2โ4 years of experience inย buying, merchandising, sourcing, or category management, preferably in toys, kids, baby products, FMCG, or retail.
- Hands-on experience withย field buying and direct vendor negotiations.
- Good understanding of inventory management, stock movement, GRNs, and warehouse coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Excel for tracking purchases, inventory, sales, margins, and sell-through.
- Ability to identify commercially viable products and evaluate pricing, quality, and market demand.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills.
- High ownership and the ability to work independently across both field and warehouse operations.
- Willingness to travel regularly acrossย Delhi NCRย for market and supplier visits.
- Existing vendor relationships within theย Delhi NCR toy or kids' product marketย would be an advantage.
- Experience in quick commerce, e-commerce, D2C, or retail buying environments is preferred.
- Exposure to import sourcing or direct manufacturer procurement will be an added advantage.
