What you'll do

  • Leading the production and commentary of monthly management information (MI) pack, including checking the accuracy of numbers, data validation and consistency.
  • Provide insight driven analysis into financial performance, with clear linkages to underlying drivers. Translate complex accounting and actuarial data into clear business insights and providing concise commentary on financial performance.
  • Leading the process to plan for year-end verification of numbers in the front half of the Annual Report.
  • Responsible for reviewing the content and quality of the external and internal reporting and recommending improvements.
  • Responsible for planning and preparing the year-end timetable, creating a roadmap with clear deliverables, identifying sources and deadlines, and scheduling review slots. Accountable for agreeing timelines and rolling forward documents to support year-end readiness.
  • Responsible for a number of one-off or non-regular deliverables including change projects, ad-hoc requests and queries.
  • Responsible for improving the current processes, improving existing controls and enhancing the quality of the final outputs for key external and internal deliverables.
  • Supporting other members of the team as required in the production of statutory and regulatory reporting deliverables.
  • Building and maintaining a strong relationship with other teams within the firm both inside and outside Finance to ensure planning is done effectively and all viewpoints are properly incorporated.

We're looking for a Financial Reporting Accountant who can turn financial data into meaningful insights, supporting the production of monthly MI reporting and working closely with Actuarial and Accounting teams to provide clear, impactful commentary to senior stakeholders.

  • The role requires the ability to effectively collaborate across Finance and the wider business to deliver, as part of a team, all statutory reporting for PIC Group, including year-end accounts and half year reports.
  • The role holder will also support the delivery of improvements to the year-end process as well as the monthly MI production.
  • The role requires the ability to solve problems and mitigate risks as they arise to ensure both a high quality and a timely delivery are achieved.
