- Responsible for providing group, individual, and family supportive therapy services to children and adolescents residing in the Mental Health Inpatient Center under the Psychology Department.
- Develops and implements music therapy curriculum informed by the evidence-based models utilized on the unit.
- Collaborates with other interdisciplinary team members to develop and/or integrate personalized treatment plans.
- Develops suitable music programs for patients based on their needs, objectives, and preferred forms of creative expression.
- Teaches patients coping skills and strategies to enable them to deal with challenging and traumatic experiences.

- Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association approved university or a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a completed Music Therapy equivalency.

- Board Certified Music Therapist with CBMT in accordance with NCCA Program Accreditation Standards.
- Ability to positively interact with children and families.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner.

- Ability to perform duties independently.
- Perform work according to CHOC policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws.

Job Summary

Minimum $26.73 Midpoint $35.41 Maximum $44.10Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Position Details
This is a part time benefitted position working Fridays and Saturdays from 9am - 7:30pm.
Experience
* Required: Two (2) of professional experience as a Music Therapist.
* Preferred: Experience working with inpatient or high-risk mental health populations. Previous experience with adolescents in a mental health setting.
Education
