External Job Description

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the development of exterior decorative paints that meet market requirements, regulatory standards and company quality benchmarks. The position is responsible for driving product formulation, testing and optimization, ensuring timely delivery of new products and improvements to existing lines. This role involves collaborating with sales and marketing teams to translate customer insights and emerging trends into commercially viable solutions. The manager will also manage technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the organization’s competitive edge in the coatings industry.

Business Responsibility Areas

1. Guide the team on new product development and product upgrade and ensure timely closure of projects with right first time (RFT) approach.
2. Collaborate with sales and marketing to quickly translate their requirements into solutions
3. Work with manufacturing team in scaling up product, product standardization and trouble shooting.
4. Create opportunities for formulation and sourcing efficiency initiatives and ensure successful implementation.
5. Product Benchmarking and support to market initiatives.
6. Collaborate with internal stakeholders - Exploration of line extensions.
7. Ensure Compliance to quality, environment and safety system standards of the organization.
8. Addressing customer complaints

• Products developed/upgraded and compliance to timelines
• Delivering solutions with 100% RFT
• Successful market trials and scale up
• Formula and sourcing efficiency implementation
• New ideas/technical reports/technical publications

Education Qualification 

• Essential: B. Tech/ M Tech (Paint Technology) or M. Sc. Chemistry
• Desirable: PhD – Chemistry/Paint Technology
