New Graduate Registered Nurse (RN): Transition to Practice Program

Transition to Practice Program:

Our Transition to Practice Program bridges educational and professional development through:

·       Advanced competencies

·       Evidence-based case review

·       Peer debriefing

·       Simulation training

·       Skill refinement

The goal of the program is to equip new graduate nurses with the education and hands-on experience needed for a successful transition into clinical practice.

 

Program Highlights: 

·       Six Sessions (11 month) Transition to Practice Program 

·       8-12 weeks of new graduate orientation with an appointed preceptor 

Eligibility Requirements: 

Candidates must:

·       Be completing their final semester of an accredited AND/BSN/MSN program within six months or have graduated within the last six months of the start of the program. 

·       Hold a valid Illinois RN license verified by the IDFPR website or have official NCLEX exam results indicating eligibility to practice under pending license by time of the start of the program. 

·       Possess a BLS CPR card through American Heart Association. 

Work Shift Details:

, Hiring decisions are based on a match between candidate skills and the availability of shifts aligned with current nursing needs. While most newly graduated RNs are typically hired into Full-Time Night shift (7:00PM –7:00 AM) positions, we value exceptional talent and may consider other available shift options when appropriate.  

Available Units Include: 

·       Medical Surgical 
·       Telemetry 
·       Neurology 
·       Oncology 
·       Inpatient Surgical Post-Op 
 
*These departments are foundational floors to build and perfect your skills as a new graduate nurse. 

Compensation

·       The pay for the New Grad RN position is $35. 00 per hour.
·       The new graduate nurse may be hired into a Graduated Nurse Assistant (GNA) position prior to completing license requirements at a pay rate of $27.00 per hour.

The expected pay for this position is listed below:

$35.00 - $42.50

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
