NOC 72021 - Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews

Job Summary Supervise and coordinate crews of heavy equipment operators to complete construction and earthmoving projects safely and efficiently. Ensure equipment readiness, enforce safety protocols, and communicate with site management to meet project timelines. Number of Positions 5 Main Duties Schedule, assign and supervise daily tasks for heavy equipment operator crews to meet project plans and deadlines. Monitor equipment operation and performance, conduct inspections, and coordinate routine maintenance or repairs. Enforce occupational health and safety procedures on site and ensure crew compliance with safety policies. Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to operators and crew members. Interpret site plans, specifications and work orders and relay relevant information to crew members and contractors. Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and suppliers to sequence work and resolve operational issues. Requirements Secondary school diploma or equivalent; completion of trade training or heavy equipment operation courses is an asset. Demonstrated experience operating heavy equipment and supervising operator crews on construction or earthmoving projects. Knowledge of equipment maintenance practices and ability to identify mechanical issues or safety hazards. Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and site safety management practices. Ability to read and interpret site plans, technical drawings and work orders. Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; reliable transportation to job sites as required.
