About our role:

Northern Star Resources has a new & exciting opportunity for a Plant Metallurgist at our world-class Jundee Operations offered on an 8 days on 6 days off Thursday to Thursday rotation, FIFO ex Perth. The Plant Metallurgist reports to the Senior Metallurgist, and the primary role includes assisting with operational and metallurgical requirements. This includes other tasks/projects under guidelines and procedures set out by the Senior Metallurgist/Processing Manager, within the Processing Department.

Here's what awaits you...

• Analyse metallurgical performance and cost information both historical and leading indicators to identify potential process improvement and assist in the accurate projection of future performance.
• Actively support and participate in continuous improvement projects to assist in enhancing the performance of the processing plant operations.
• Liaise with the leadership team of Mineral Processing over identification, prioritisation, and implementation of metallurgical projects.
• Assist the Senior Metallurgist and Processing Manager in managing external contractors and consultants (as required) to support project progress and purchase order generation and receipting in invoices.
• Support operations and maintenance teams with trouble shooting issues in the plant as they arise.

To thrive in this role, you'll need...

• Experience: Minimum 2 year's relevant experience in mineral processing plants preferably with gold experience, a working knowledge of metallurgical test work flowsheets and procedures, sound process analysis skills, high level of computer skills - particularly Excel and Citect SCADA control, & strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, valid Australian Drivers Licence.
