NPD and R&D

Roles and Responsibilities:Formulate and develop personal care, skin care, hair care, baby care, hygiene care cosmetics, aerosol, and industrial products in a cost-effective manner while adhering to GMP norms and quality standards.Lead the ideation process for new products by conducting market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.Manage customer relationships by performing reviews, customer visits, and product testing. Take full ownership of the R&D space and deliver results with minimal supervision.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, formulation, and marketing) to develop product concepts, specifications, and ensure alignment with customer expectations.Monitor and manage the product development process to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.Review and approve product designs, packaging, and labeling to ensure they meet quality and regulatory standards.Oversee the testing and evaluation of prototypes and samples, making adjustments and iterations as needed.Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure the timely production and delivery of new products.Lead the successful launch of new products, including planning and executing product launches, and coordinating with sales and marketing teams for market penetration.Continuously evaluate the performance of existing products, suggest improvements, and maintain their competitive edge in the market.Possess a strong understanding of product costing and develop products within customer budget constraints.Maintain knowledge of raw materials and packaging materials necessary for production.Conduct market research to assess competition and compare products with competitors’ offerings.Determine product pricing based on market research, production costs, anticipated volume, and special/customized orders.Understand customer expectations and needs for to-be-manufactured products.Document all phases of research and development, ensuring thorough tracking and reporting.Manage and maintain R&D laboratory and testing equipment, including purchasing, calibrating, and ensuring preventive maintenance in a cost-effective manner.Support marketing and quality assurance/control teams in addressing technical and quality issues raised by customers.Provide presentations to customers and travel with the marketing team to meet customers when required.Skills Required:Qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry/Pharma, PhD in Chemistry (preferred).Experience: Minimum 7 years in product development, with a strong preference for experience in the beauty care and cosmetics industry.Strong knowledge of product costing and budgeting.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Ability to work independently and demonstrate creativity in product development.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.Ability to meet customer requirements and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
