What you'll do

  • Perform a full range of Nuclear Scans.
  • Department policies and procedures including hours of work, OT policy, punctuality and attendance, policy manual, ID badges, and clocking in/out.
  • Patient care including patient reception, identification, explanation of procedure, contacting translators, injections, flow studies, planar static imaging, whole body imaging, cardiac imaging and analysis, SPECT, and labeling/transfer to printers.
  • Quality control/equipment operation including daily intrinsic/extrinsic floods, weekly bar phantom/grid, uniformity test and COR of gamma camera, dose calibrator daily constancy, log in/out isotopes, thyroid probe daily QC, hot lab/clinic/injection room surveys, and electrical safety guidelines.
  • Radiation Safety including radiation safety procedures, spills, radiation safety manual, pregnant policy, radioactive trash procedures, and QMP for I131.
  • General health and safety requirements including fire safety, emergency preparedness, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, blood labeling policy, CDC hand hygiene guidelines, universal precautions, respiratory etiquette, and biohazard waste policies.
  • Technology usage including e-mail, Workday, intranet, Epic, and operation of gamma camera computers.

Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine, will perform a full range of Nuclear Scans.

 

Compensation Pay Range:

$42.42 - $57.09

 

Per-diem, 10hr shifts, weekend and weekday shifts available, NO CALL, 06:30am - 5:00pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1 - Department policies and procedures

   a - Hours of work, OT policy, paycheck distribution.

   b - Punctuality and attendance, use of time off, vacations.

   c - Policy manual.

   d - ID badges.

   e - Clocking in/out.

2 - Patient care

   a - Patient reception, identification, and explanation of procedure.

   b - How to contact and confirm a translator if needed

   c - Injections.

   d - Flow studies.

   e - Planar static imaging.

   f - Whole body imaging.

   g - Cardiac imaging and analysis.

   h - SPECT.

   i - Labeling and transfer to printers.

   e - QMP for I131.

   a - Fire safety, RACE, location of fire extinguisher and escape routes.

   b - Emergency preparedness plan.

   c - Hazardous materials and location of MSDS.

   d - Medical emergencies.

   e - Department blood labeling policy.

   f - Complies with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines.

   g - Universal precautions.

   h - Adheres to respiratory etiquette guidelines.

   i - Biohazard waste policies - sharps.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education - Preferred

Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program and be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or ARRT Certification.

Minimum Work Experience

Prefer one (1) to two (2) years of experience: 
Prefer prior experience however, new graduates will be considered.

Required Licenses / Registrations

Required Classes/Certifications

Required additional Knowledge, and Abilities

Employees must produce their CEU records to their manager prior to start date and on an ongoing basis thereafter.  Technologists in this position are responsible to maintain CEU activity on-site for a period of two years longer than the technologist’s last licensure renewal date.
