Pay Range:
$51.05 - $76.60Scotland Surgical & GI is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing General Surgery team in Scotland County, North Carolina. This full-time opportunity offers a blend of outpatient clinic responsibilities and inpatient rounding support alongside a collaborative team of experienced surgeons and advanced practice providers.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of APP experience and a passion for delivering high-quality patient-centered care. Gastroenterology experience is a plus but not required.

Essential Functions
- Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments.
- Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care.
- Performs a wide range of surgical and/or medical procedures.
- Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications.
- Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations.
- Determines treatment plan for patient.
- Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record.
- Acts as a patient advocate for the population served.
- Assesses own practice needs, as well as those of the other APPs of the health care team and develops methods to meet those needs.
- Assists in the review and development of clinical and operational policies and procedures in the specialty of practice.
- Serves as a liaison to collaborating physicians, patients, nurses, staff and others as necessary.
- Coordinates annual performance reviews in collaboration with assigned supervising physicians. This includes assuring compliance with all aspects of licensure and credentialing for assigned APPs.
- Attends, participates, contributes to and represents APPs in the assigned areas of responsibility on group/practice, facility or system-wide committees and/or meetings.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.
Education, Experience and Certifications.
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state one works. 5 years experience required in specific specialty; management/supervisory experience preferred. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
Nurse Practitioner
Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in thearea of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. ACNP, AGACNP, AGNP, PNP, or PNP-AC board certification preferred based population served.
