What you'll do

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates risk management activities for Memorial Healthcare System.
  • Coordinate reporting of patient care-related incidents to the Agency for Healthcare Administration, Department of Health and FDA as required by law.
  • Submits required reports to state and federal agencies.
  • Conducts Root Cause Analysis as needed and development of corrective action plans.
  • Conducts risk management educational programs to employees and medical staff to enhance safety awareness.
  • Collects and assesses data to identify potential or actual sources of risk to patients and employees.
  • Collaborates with all staff and applicable committees with respect to risk-related incidents, claims, litigation, policies, and practices.
  • Assists with the initial response, investigation and handling of patient and employee claims.
  • Assist in investigation of potentially compensable events and asserted claims (as requested).
  • Takes on-call responsibilities at the discretion of the Corporate Director of Risk Management.
